Your songs stay on your computer.
Your song files never leave your computer: JamJamz reads them in place and never copies, changes or uploads them. Progress, kit maps and calibration are stored in your browser. Events about your practice, such as which notes you hit and when, travel over HTTPS to JamJamz servers. This site uses cookieless analytics.
Where each kind of data goes
| Data | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Song files | Read in place through the browser's folder access. Never copied, changed or uploaded |
| Practice data on your device | Progress, kit map and calibration are stored in your browser and stay there |
| Practice events | Notes played, pass results, calibration and errors are sent over HTTPS to JamJamz servers on Sanford Labs infrastructure in the United States. No song audio or song files |
| Transport | HTTPS everywhere, with certificates from Let's Encrypt; HTTP redirects to HTTPS |
| Analytics | PostHog in cookieless mode: no cookies, nothing stored in your browser, events sent through this site's own domain |
| Waitlist | Email and the details you choose to share, stored by the Sanford Labs waitlist service and used only for JamJamz early access |

Questions about your data
Are my song files uploaded?
No. JamJamz reads your song files in place, on your own computer, through the browser's folder access. Audio, charts and song files never leave your machine and are never copied or changed. Only events about your practice, such as which notes you hit and when, are sent to JamJamz.
What practice data does JamJamz keep?
Your progress, kit map and calibration are saved in your browser. Practice events, such as the notes you played, pass results, calibration and errors, are sent to JamJamz servers so practice can be reviewed and coaching improved. Song audio and song files are never sent.
