How to set up your song library in JamJamz

Open JamJamz in desktop Chrome or Edge, choose your Clone Hero songs folder, and allow the browser to read it. JamJamz scans every song folder, lists the songs that have a drum chart, and remembers the folder for next time. It reads your files in place and never copies, changes or uploads them.

Steps

  1. Step 1

Open JamJamz in a supported browser

Use desktop Chrome or Edge. JamJamz needs the File System Access API to read your songs, which Safari, Firefox and phones do not offer.

  2. Step 2

    Choose your songs folder

Pick the folder that holds your Clone Hero songs, the one with a subfolder per song. You can choose a parent folder; JamJamz looks inside every subfolder.

  3. Step 3

    Allow read access

The browser asks whether JamJamz may view the folder. Allow it. JamJamz only reads; it never writes to your library.

  4. Step 4

    Check the song list

JamJamz lists songs that have a drum chart in notes.mid, notes.chart or a .sng package, with the title and artist from song.ini. Songs without drums are left out.

What does a song folder need?

Each song lives in its own folder with a song.ini file, a drum chart, and the audio. JamJamz reads three chart formats:

Format What it is
notes.mid A MIDI chart, the most common format
notes.chart A text chart
.sng A single-file song package

Charts with pro drums data let JamJamz tell cymbals from toms. Charts without it still work; colored notes are then treated as toms or cymbals by lane.

Will JamJamz remember my folder?

Yes. JamJamz remembers the folder between visits. Your browser may ask you to allow access again after a restart, which is a browser safety rule, not a lost setting.

Does JamJamz change my files?

No. JamJamz never copies, converts, moves or uploads song files. Your library stays exactly as it was.
